Ilya Belyaev
CEO and Managing Partner
Co-founder of Supremum Capital.

Mr. Belyaev held position of Vice President, Investment Banking, at Barclays Capital before leaving in 2011 to co-found Supremum Capital.

Mr. Belyaev has over 8 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience gained at JPMorgan, Barclays Capital and VEB Capital (investment banking arm of Russian Vnesheconombank) in London and Moscow. Transaction experience includes M&A / corporate finance and capital markets transactions in excess of US$20bn in value.

Mr. Belyaev has a track record of establishing and managing several start-up and venture projects in education and telecom sectors in Russia.

Mr. Belyaev also serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors and Chairman of Strategy and Audit Committees at Moscow Pharmaceuticals Company named after N.A. Semashko,Moscow Oils & Lubricants Plant and Central Geophysics Company.

He graduated with distinction from Moscow State University with a MSc in Mathematics (Group Theory) and studied economics at New Economics School.

Denis Shafranik
Managing Partner
Co-founder of Supremum Capital.

Prior to joining Supremum Capital, Mr. Shafranik spent 9 years at Barclays Capital’s Investment Banking Division, lately as a Vice President covering energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors across EMEA. Based in London, Mr. Shafranik was responsible for structuring and executing over US$25bn worth of debt, equity and M&A transactions.

Since 2009 Mr. Shafranik acts as an active venture investor via ERMAK Group, having closed over a dozen transactions with a focus on new energy and digital technology sectors.

Mr. Shafranik graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Economics and obtained an MSc in Management from Gubkin Russian State University. Mr. Shafranik obtained an EMBA from INSEAD and is a CFA charterholder.
